I'm highly disappointed at these numbers i thought Ye would move more being as this album was GREAT. But in this day and age people download rather than support good music so i kind of expected this. Just shows that the leak really affected the album sales. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sold ... 518,775 copies. A huge number for 2010, to be sure, but maybe just a touch disappointing? To put it in perspective: Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday moved 371,049 copies this week; Drake's Thank Me Later did 462,989 earlier this year; and Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 did 476,000 last September. Tweet

MTV caught up with Birdman at his 15th annual turkey giveaway at Shakespeare Park across the street from the housing projects where he grew up in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.

“It feels good to see people that you grew up with, that you’ve been knowing your whole life and your family,” Birdman said. “[They] know more about you than you know about yourself.” “They see us on TV so much, but never get to see us [in person]. But for them to see us, shake our hands, tell us they know our momma, they know our daddy, so many that watched me as a kid that tried to keep my head straight when I was younger — it feels great, not just good.”

Also worth nothing: Both have seen their skills decline as they’ve aged but, remarkably, this has had not much impact on their commercial relevancy: Eminem’s Recovery has had even more success than Relapse, and Jay’s “Empire State of Mind” — off the uneven Blueprint 3 — is the biggest single of his career.

Kanye West had his, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” album release concert last night in NYC. Guest included Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, John Legend, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, Justin Vernon & CyHi The Prince. News of the show hit the net a couple of hours before they went on sale to the public and they sold out instantly.

Celebrities in attendance included Diddy, L.A. Reid, Lyor Cohen, Spike Lee, Questlove and more watching the show from above. The place was small which gave an intimate feel to the show. Kanye West was very focused on the music, at times going acapella so people really paid attention to his lyrics. I feel that hearing music live always gives you more appreciation for it. "After posting two straight double-doubles to open the 2010-11 campaign, University of Houston senior forward Maurice McNeil was honored Monday as the Conference USA Player of the Week.

The New York City native helped propel the Cougars to their second 2-0 start since 1997-1998 by averaging 15.5 points and 12.5 rebounds during Houston's opening weekend of basketball.

Against Nicholls State on Friday, McNeil hit the game-winning shot with just seconds to spare in overtime to give the Cougars a 63-62 victory. He finished the night with 13 points on 4-of-4 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds. He also added three steals and three blocks in the game.

McNeil scored 19 points and recorded 12 rebounds for the Cougars in their 88-68 win against Alcorn State on Sunday. It was the eighth double-double of his career.
