Kanye West talks Social Media, Michael Jackson, George Bush, Taylof Swift, Janelle Monae and more…

Recently, Kanye West along with Minnesota’s KDWB 103.1 had an interview sitdown with media and fans where he talked the ratings writers gave him for his first three albums and the social media’s impact on artists such as himself and Michael Jackson. In the rest of Part 1 he mentions being introduced to blogs as one of his regrets, Taylor Swift selling 1 million copies her first week, him speaking out at award shows, his love for Twitter to get his word across and comparing the media backlash of the ‘09 VMA’s to the story of Emmitt Til.

“Jesus died for our sins, Michael (Jackson) died for the sins of our media. Jesus had the bible, Michael had Wikipedia.”

In Part 2 he explains being past the arrogance and cocky personality most labelled him with in the past, G.O.O.D. Fridays, the man hours put into “Power”, his thoughts on people feeling he’s racist and being stripped of hard work at award shows.

In the video above at the 2:58 mark ‘Ye is asked by Wazz from KDWB to name an artist he feels is under appreciated and underrated where he quickly names Janelle Monae. For the rest of the interview he talk about the My Beautiful Dark Twsited Fantasy album (features, album covers), if he’s going to bring back the college theme of his first three albums and what the Phoenix represents from “Power”.

He also hints at a major interview coming up, possibly Oprah? since that’s the only person he’s following on Twitter.
